About

This blog is intended to do the following:

  1. Document my progress in converting a 3000+ page website from static pages to using the MODx content management system.
  2. Help me and other MODx users learn together how to use it in the most effective manner (or, in other words, I’m hoping that this blog will serve as a supplement to the existing official and unofficial MODx documentation).
  3. Explore the relative merits of MODx and Drupal as CMS options, and the factors that led me to chose MODx over Drupal.
  4. Facilitate discussion about how to best go about choosing a CMS in general… and in particular, when to choose (or not choose) Drupal or MODx.

  1. Hi James

I am trying to get the Modx Revolution community who have gone past the simple to more advanced to create simple, easy to understand tutorials. Kinda like your doing, but with an intro and end.

I am looking for a cheatsheet, a notepad file with steps on how to create a simple site with modx. Someone has to have their own 10 step program to remind them on how to do so and so.

Got one for me that I can test out and share with the community??

Or some of the blogs that you created but with some more info on how to get to the stage that you are at?

    Great, thanks…:)

Man am I trying to get a simple 10 – 15 steps on how to do something. Easy directions for anyone to follow. As I say I am hoping you got something to share with me….:)

    • Hi Paal,

I don’t have anything like that written up, but that is *exactly* the sort of thing I intend to write about in the near future. I have set up a new blog (done in MODx Revolution), and I’m hoping to be able to finish the setup and begin writing there soon. I’ll post the URL here once it is up.

      Thanks,
      James

  2. Great to hear! I am looking forward to the simple to follow tutorials. Just enough text to get the idea and follow to get a good result within 15 minutes or so.

    Have a great day!

  3. Since I am a self employed Web Developer and I am not getting any help from anyone, I really need to go to the top and see if you can tell me what’s going on.

I develop all my sites using MODx, i love your CMS Tool, the issue that im encountering is the SAVE LOOP, once i or my clients try to make changes via MODx and then select SAVE it starts a continuous loop that requires that I close out the browser window to stop the loop.

HELP! I need a solution and im not getting anywhere.

    Thank you in advance,

    Mark

  4. Many men consider women with perfect skin and toned, voluptuous bodies to be the best women to pursue for a sexual relationship because that’s what we see all the time in magazines. ‘Even so, I could see the couple loved each other and wanted to save their marriage.
